Our Story

Old oak trees and houses in Southwest Atlanta

Our Story

Rooted in Atlanta’s history. Rising again.

Why Resurgens?

Atlanta’s motto — Resurgens — means “rising again.” Adopted after Sherman’s march left the city in ashes, it captured a spirit that has defined Atlanta ever since: resilience, reinvention, and the stubborn refusal to stay down.

That same spirit defines the Southwest Atlanta neighborhoods we focus on. Mechanicsville, Pittsburgh, Capitol View, and Capitol View Manor were once thriving working-class communities built around Atlanta’s industrial rail yards. Families put down roots here. Businesses flourished. Then decades of disinvestment took their toll.

Today, these neighborhoods are rising again — and we intend to be part of that story. Not as outside investors extracting value, but as stewards committed to thoughtful, community-minded development that honors what came before while welcoming what’s next.

The Neighborhoods

Historic rail yards of Southwest Atlanta

Mechanicsville

One of Atlanta’s oldest neighborhoods, established in the 1870s to house railroad workers. The name says it all — this was a community built by people who built things. Today it sits less than a mile from Mercedes-Benz Stadium and the BeltLine’s Westside Trail.

Community mosaic art in Pittsburgh neighborhood

Pittsburgh

Named after Pittsburgh, PA due to its steel and industrial heritage. Home to vibrant murals, community art installations, and an active neighborhood association driving revitalization. The Pittsburgh Yards development — a 31-acre innovation campus — is already transforming the area.

Capitol View neighborhood history markers

Capitol View & Capitol View Manor

Established early 20th century, these adjacent neighborhoods feature tree-lined streets and classic Craftsman bungalows. The planned Adams Crossing MARTA station will bring transit-oriented development — and renewed energy — to Ralph David Abernathy Blvd.

Our Approach

Thoughtful Stewardship

We renovate with care for the neighborhood’s architectural character — preserving the details that give these homes their soul while bringing them into the modern era.

Flexible Tenancy

Our properties serve both long-term residents and short-term guests — families putting down roots and visitors experiencing Atlanta’s most authentic neighborhoods.

Community First

Every investment decision is filtered through one question: does this make these neighborhoods better? We’re here for the long haul — not a quick flip.
